4th of July

We went hiking on the morning of the 4th, and enjoyed the peacefulness of Jay Cooke State Park. At the start of the trail, we had to cross over the river on a long suspension bridge. Carson refused to hold my hand as we crossed, he wanted to be a big boy and hold on to the railing.
He did hold my hand as we walked up the hills, they were tricky...
Along the way he got to hold a little toad that was hopping along the trail. He was very intrigued at first, but then changed his mind and didn't want anything to do with it.
When we got back from our hike, we found a picnic table and ate lunch. Afterwards, we went down to the river where he got to enjoy one of his favorite activities...throwing rocks in the water.
