First Time Sledding

I took Carson outside to play in the snow and pull him around on his sled. He wasn't so sure about it at first, but soon realized that it was pretty fun. We started walking up the street, but didn't make it to the end because his eyes started watering from the cold. We'll have to try again on a warmer day.

Happy Birthday Carson!

Wow! An entire year has gone by, and Carson celebrated his 1st birthday today. He posed for me this morning in his little rocking chair, he was sporting the birthday shirt I made for him. :)


I bought a huge birthday boy bib...with the anticipation of a huge mess while eating cake!


Here is the birthday cake I made for him. I thought it turned out pretty good, especially since I don't have any experience decorating cakes.

He was pretty cautious at first, not really knowing exactly what I had put in front of him. He quickly realized that the frosting was REALLY yummy!

Yep, it even got smeared in his hair!


He wasn't a big fan of the birthday hat...

But, apparently it's pretty funny to put your face inside...it made him giggle and laugh.


He had been pushing his presents around the living floor for a couple days, totally clueless that there was actually something inside. Can you imagine the excitement of finding out that there are toys underneath that pretty paper?

Memories

I remember everything about this exact day last year, from who I talked to on the phone, where I went out to eat, and even what movie I watched. My last day before I became a Mommy...
I went to hospital to be induced at 5pm, and was so excited to meet Carson. I had contractions all night, but didn't actually go into labor until the following day.
I thought I'd post some pictures from the past year, he has changed so much, and has truely turned into such a wonderful boy with such a fun loving personality.

Carson discovered that his little pointer finger can push buttons, and make his toys work on demand....not just accidently. What an accomplishment! :)




His 1 year pictures went well. I have to wait 10 days for them to be available online, but will post them when I can. We did a cake smashing photo shoot, which was hilarious to watch, and the pictures turned out precious.

Santa's Little Helper

After much debate, I finally convinced Carson to keep this stocking hat on his head. Doesn't he look angelic in this picture? I thought if we practiced, he would be ready to wear it by Christmas with no problems. :)

I spent a good portion of the day preparing for his upcoming birthday, and 1 year pictures, which are on Tuesday. I can't believe my baby with be 1 year old a week from today! I was also looking at older pictures and reminiscing, it's unreal the changes that occur in such a short amount of time.

Visiting Santa

I took Carson to go see Santa Claus today, and get pictures taken. Let me start out by saying, he did NOT like Santa! This is the photo that they took. The way I look at it is, these kind of pictures are more for the memory, so I'm not bothered by the fact that he has tears streaming down his cheeks.



I can only imagine what he was thinking in this picture. "Mom, who is this guy...and why did you leave me on his lap?"

After the pictures were done, I calmed him down and then went to the counter to order my pictures. We were the only ones getting pictures done at the time, so I put him on the floor to walk around. He was happy as could be...until Santa waved at him. This was his reaction...

The Many Expressions of Carson

I took quite a few pictures of Carson this morning, and picked out some that truely show off his fun loving personality. His absolutely LOVES being chased, and when he hears, "Mommy's gonna get you...", he takes off running and giggling. You can see his expressions in a couple of these pictures.

Library Day

This morning Carson and I went to the library for a playdate with some friends. We were pleasantly surprised to see that they added some new blocks to their toy collection. :) We had lots of fun building and knocking down towers.

He has decided that he really likes kitty's too! Apparently, it doesn't matter whether they are real or fake, they totally intrigue him.
